Srimad Bhagavatam 11.19.44 meaning

daridro yas tv-asantushtah kripano yojitendriyah guneshv-asaktadheer eesho gunasango viparyayah

The poor man is the one who is never satisfied. The wretched one is he who cannot control his senses. The master is one whose mind is not attached to the world; one attached is the opposite.

What it means
A person with millions who always wants more is truly poor. A person with little but at peace is rich. Contentment and self-mastery are the real measures of freedom.

Spoken by Krishna.
