Bhagavad Gita 9.21 meaning

te tam bhuktva svargalokam vishalam ksheene punye martyalokam vishanti evam trayeedharmam anuprapanna gatagatam kamakama labhante

Having enjoyed that vast heaven, when their merit runs out they return to the world of mortals. So those who follow the rituals of the three Vedas, wanting pleasures, keep coming and going.

What it means
Every pleasure bought with effort eventually runs out, like money in an account. Then the chase begins again. Lasting peace comes from something that doesn't need constant refilling.

Spoken by Krishna.
