Bhagavad Gita 9.19 meaning
tapamy-aham aham varsham nigrihnamy-utsrijami cha
amritam chaiva mrityush cha sad asach chaham arjuna
I give heat; I hold back the rain and I send it down. I am immortality and also death. I am both what is and what is not, Arjuna.
What it means
Sun and rain, life and death, what exists and what doesn't—all come from the same source. Seeing opposites as part of one whole can soften our fear of change and loss. How it helps in real life
- In grief: Your grandfather passed away last month. Let yourself grieve, then look at his whole life, the beginning and the end, as one story.
- When you are worried: Layoff rumours at office have you panicking. Remember dry seasons and rains both come; update your CV calmly and keep working.
Spoken by Krishna.
