Bhagavad Gita 9.16 meaning
aham kratur aham yajnah svadhaham aham aushadham
mantroham aham evajyam aham agnir aham hutam
I am the ritual, I am the sacrifice, I am the offering to the ancestors, I am the healing herb. I am the sacred chant, I am the ghee, I am the fire, and I am the act of offering.
What it means
Krishna says he is every part of worship—the act, the words, the offering, the fire. The sacred isn't somewhere far off; it's present in every element of a sincere act.How it helps in real life
- Every day: Do your daily puja on autopilot? Tomorrow, slow down and notice each part, the ghee, the flame, the words, as sacred.
- Helping others: Cooking for a community kitchen this weekend? Treat every chapati as an offering and serve each person with full attention.
Spoken by Krishna.
