What it means
When we lose sight of what truly matters, even our hard work and hopes can go to waste. Clarity about values keeps our effort from drifting into harm. How it helps in real life
- At work: Working eighty-hour weeks on a product you don't believe in? Pause and write your values down; check whether your effort serves them.
- With money: Chasing money through shortcuts that hurt others? Stop now and choose honest work, even if it pays less at first.
