Bhagavad Gita 8.25 meaning

dhoomo ratris tatha krishnah shanmasa dakshinayanam tatra chandramasam jyotir yogee prapya nivartate

Smoke, night, the dark half of the moon, the six months when the sun moves south: the yogi who departs by this path reaches the light of the moon and returns.

What it means
The 'path of smoke' leads to a borrowed, reflected light, like the moon's, and then back again. Read symbolically, a life tied to unfinished desires keeps circling back. Clarity frees; clinging returns.

Spoken by Krishna.
