Bhagavad Gita 8.17 meaning
sahasrayuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmano viduh
ratrim yugasahasrantam tehoratravido janah
Those who understand day and night know that one day of Brahma lasts a thousand ages, and his night also lasts a thousand ages.
What it means
On a cosmic scale, even vast ages are a single day. Seeing time this way shrinks our daily worries to their true size. Many problems that feel huge today will look tiny from a wider view. How it helps in real life
- When you are worried: Panicking over a bad quarterly result at work? Zoom out: in five years you'll barely remember it. Fix what you can this week.
- With family: A small fight with your sister has lasted weeks? Look at it from the long view of your lifelong bond and call her today.
Spoken by Krishna.
