Bhagavad Gita 7.23 meaning
antavat tu phalam tesham tad bhavaty-alpamedhasam
devan devayajo yanti madbhakta yanti mam api
But the results gained by those of limited understanding do not last. Those who worship the gods go to the gods; my devotees come to me.
What it means
What you aim for is what you get. Chasing short-term rewards gives short-term results. Aim for something lasting, and your life gradually takes on a lasting quality. How it helps in real life
- With money: Chasing quick crypto gains every week? Shift some focus to a long-term savings habit that will still matter in twenty years.
- Big decisions: Choosing a job only for this year's bonus? Ask which option builds skills and values that will last a decade, then decide.
Spoken by Krishna.
