Bhagavad Gita 7.12 meaning

ye ch-aiva sattvika bhava rajasas tamasash cha ye matta ev-eti tan viddhi na tv-aham teshu te mayi

Know that all states of being, whether calm and pure, active and restless, or dull and dark, come from me alone. Yet I am not in them; they are in me.

What it means
Calm, restlessness and heaviness are all moods nature produces. The deeper reality holds them all but is not trapped by any of them. You too can watch moods without becoming them.

Spoken by Krishna.
