One who is not shaken by sorrow, does not crave pleasure, and is free from attachment, fear and anger is called a sage of steady mind.
What it means
Emotional steadiness means hard times don't crush us and good times don't make us greedy. Letting go of clinging, fear and anger leaves a calm, clear mind. How it helps in real life
- When you are angry: A driver cuts you off on the Western Express Highway. Let the anger pass, unclench your hands, and keep your own lane.
- When you succeed: Got a big bonus and want to splurge immediately? Wait a week before buying anything, and see what you still really want.
Spoken by Krishna.
