Bhagavad Gita 2.30 meaning
dehee nityam avadhyoyam dehe sarvasya bharata
tasmat sarvani bhootani na tvam shochitum arhasi
The one who lives in every body can never be killed, Arjuna. So you should not grieve for any living being.
What it means
Krishna sums up his first teaching: the true self in everyone is beyond harm. Seeing this in others as well as ourselves can bring both comfort in grief and respect for all life. How it helps in real life
- Helping others: Passing the same street vendor every day? Greet him by name today; the same life lives in him as in you.
- In grief: Lost a colleague suddenly? Light a diya at your desk, send a kind note to their family, and keep their good habits alive.
Spoken by Krishna.
