Bhagavad Gita · Moksa Sannyasa Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 18.7 meaning
niyatasya tu sannyasah karmano n-opapadyate
mohat tasya parityagas tamasah parikeertitah
It is not right to give up the duties that are yours to do. Abandoning them out of confusion is called tamasic, the renunciation of darkness.
What it means
Walking away from your responsibilities because you are confused or lazy is not spiritual. It is just avoidance dressed up as detachment, and it usually leaves a bigger mess. How it helps in real life
- With family: Calling your duties to ageing parents 'attachment' so you can skip visits? Book the train ticket for this weekend.
- As a parent: Overwhelmed, you've stopped checking your kid's homework entirely. Don't disappear; set fifteen calm minutes each evening to sit with them.
Spoken by Krishna.
