Bhagavad Gita 18.37 meaning
yat tad agre visham iva parinamemritopamam
tat sukham sattvikam proktam atmabuddhiprasadajam
That which feels like poison at first but turns into nectar in the end, born from a clear and calm mind, is called sattvic happiness.
What it means
Exercise, study, honest effort and self-control taste bitter at first. Stick with them and they become the sweetest things in life. Lasting joy usually begins with a little discomfort. How it helps in real life
- Health & body: The first week of morning runs feels awful. Keep going for one month; the body that hated it starts asking for it.
- Studies & exams: Learning Sanskrit or coding is painful at first. Do thirty minutes daily for six weeks before judging whether you enjoy it.
Spoken by Krishna.
