Bhagavad Gita 18.34 meaning
yaya tu dharmakamarthan dhritya dharayaterjuna
prasangena phalakankshee dhritih sa partha rajasee
The resolve by which one holds on to duty, pleasure and wealth, craving their rewards out of attachment, that, Arjuna, is rajasic resolve.
What it means
Sticking with something only for the payoff, whether money, pleasure or reputation, is real determination, but it is fragile. When the reward fades, so does the commitment.
Spoken by Krishna.
