Bhagavad Gita 18.3 meaning
tyajyam doshavad ity-eke karma prahur maneeshinah
yajnadanatapahkarma na tyajyam iti chapare
Some thinkers say all action should be abandoned because it is flawed. Others say acts of sacrifice, giving and self-discipline should never be abandoned.
What it means
Krishna first lays out the debate fairly. Some say every action creates trouble, so stop acting. Others say good actions must continue. Listening to both sides before deciding is itself wisdom. How it helps in real life
- With family: Your parents and your wife disagree about where you should live. Hear each side fully, alone with each, before you decide anything.
- At work: Your team is split on whether to scrap the old product. Let both sides present for ten minutes each, then decide.
Spoken by Krishna.
