Bhagavad Gita 18.11 meaning
na hi dehabhrita shakyam tyaktum karmany-asheshatah
yas tu karmaphalatyagee sa tyageety-abhidheeyate
No one with a body can give up action completely. So the one who gives up the fruits of action is the one truly called a renunciant.
What it means
As long as you are alive you will act: breathe, eat, work, speak. So freedom cannot mean doing nothing. It means doing everything without being chained to the outcome. How it helps in real life
- Big decisions: Avoiding any decision about your career so you can't fail? Not choosing is also a choice; pick one small step and release the outcome.
- At work: Feeling you must quit your job to be detached? Keep working fully, and just stop obsessing over the quarterly ratings.
Spoken by Krishna.
