dambhahankarasanyuktah kamaragabal-anvitah
Those who practise harsh austerities not taught by scripture, full of hypocrisy and ego, driven by desire, attachment and force,
What it means
Extreme self-punishment done to impress others or prove our strength is not true discipline. Real discipline is balanced and humble; it does not need an audience. How it helps in real life
- Health & body: Doing a harsh nine-day water fast mainly to post about it? Choose a gentle, sensible fast, keep it private, and listen to your body.
- At work: Bragging about 18-hour workdays to impress your boss? Work focused, balanced hours and let results speak, not your exhaustion.
Spoken by Krishna.
