Krishna said: They speak of an eternal ashvattha tree with roots above and branches below. Its leaves are the Vedic hymns. Whoever understands this tree truly knows the Vedas.
What it means
The world is pictured as an upside-down tree: its root is in the divine above, its branches spread down into our lives. Understanding where everything grows from is the heart of real knowledge. How it helps in real life
- Studies & exams: Memorising facts for UPSC without seeing the big picture? Spend one session mapping how topics connect back to their root ideas.
- Big decisions: Your problems feel like a tangle of branches. Draw a simple tree: find the one root cause, and work on that first.
Spoken by Krishna.
