Bhagavad Gita 14.7 meaning
rajo ragatmakam viddhi trishnasanga-samudbhavam
tan nibadhnati kaunteya karmasangena dehinam
Know that passion is the nature of craving, born from thirst and attachment. It binds the soul, Arjuna, through attachment to action.
What it means
The restless urge to always want more, do more, get more is passion at work. It fuels hustle, but also burnout. Notice when your busyness is driven by craving rather than purpose. How it helps in real life
- At work: Answering emails at 1 am again for a promotion you're not even sure you want? Ask why you're running, and log off tonight.
- With money: You just bought a new car and already want a bigger one. Wait thirty days before any big purchase and see if the craving fades.
Spoken by Krishna.
