What it means
Much stress comes from thinking 'I alone make everything happen.' Recognising that countless forces are at work lightens the ego, and lets you act sincerely without carrying the whole world on your shoulders. How it helps in real life
- At work: Your product launch flopped and you blame only yourself. List the market, timing and team factors too; act on your part and release the rest.
- As a parent: Your child failed a subject and you feel it's all your fault. Many factors play in; talk to the teacher and make a plan together.
