Bhagavad Gita 10.35 meaning
brihatsama tatha samnam gayatree chandasam aham
masanam margasheershoham ritoonam kusumakarah
Among Sama hymns I am the Brihat Sama; among poetic metres I am the Gayatri. Among months I am Margashirsha, and among seasons I am spring, the bringer of flowers.
What it means
Spring, a pleasant month, a beautiful chant: the divine shows up in what is fresh and lovely. Pausing to enjoy beauty in nature is itself a kind of prayer. How it helps in real life
- Phone & habits: A spring weekend and you're binge-watching? Switch off the TV, go see the flowers in a nearby park, and keep your phone pocketed.
- When you feel alone: Feeling low in a grey London winter? Play a Gayatri mantra recording, water your plants, and notice one beautiful thing today.
Spoken by Krishna.
