Ashtavakra Gita 9.3 meaning

anityam sarvam ev-edam tapatritayadooshitam asaram ninditam heyam iti nishchitya shamyati

All this is temporary, spoiled by three kinds of suffering, hollow, worthless and fit to be left behind. Being sure of this, one becomes calm.

What it means
Nothing outside you lasts or fully satisfies, and it often brings stress of body, mind and circumstance. This is not pessimism. Seeing it honestly frees you from expecting the world to give what it cannot.

Spoken by Ashtavakra.
