Ashtavakra Gita 18.97 meaning
vikshepepi na vikshiptah samadhau na samadhiman
jadyepi na jado dhanyah pandityepi na panditah
विक्षेपेऽपि न विक्षिप्तः समाधौ न समाधिमान्।
जाड्येऽपि न जडो धन्यः पाण्डित्येऽपि न पण्डितः॥
Even in distraction he is not distracted; in meditation he does not claim to be meditating; even in dullness he is not dull; even in learning he is not puffed up with learning. Such a one is blessed.
What it means
States come and go: focus, distraction, sharpness, fog. You do not have to identify with any of them. Being free means not making a self-image out of whatever passes through you.हिंदी में अर्थ
भटकाव में भी वह भटका हुआ नहीं, समाधि में भी समाधि का दावेदार नहीं, जड़ता में भी जड़ नहीं, विद्वत्ता में भी विद्वान बना नहीं। ऐसा व्यक्ति धन्य है।
अवस्थाएँ आती-जाती हैं, एकाग्रता, भटकाव, तेज़ी, धुंध। हमें किसी से भी पहचान जोड़ने की ज़रूरत नहीं। मुक्त होना यानी जो गुज़रे उससे अपनी छवि न बनाना।
