Ashtavakra Gita 18.94 meaning
suptopi na sushuptau cha svapnepi shayito na cha
jagarepi na jagarti dheeras triptah pade pade
सुप्तोऽपि न सुषुप्तौ च स्वप्नेऽपि शयितो न च।
जागरेऽपि न जागर्ति धीरस्तृप्तः पदे पदे॥
Asleep, he is not lost in deep sleep; dreaming, he is not lying in a dream; awake, he is not merely awake. The wise one is content at every step.
What it means
There is an awareness beneath sleeping, dreaming and waking that does not come and go with them. Resting there, you can be content in every state, not just on good days.हिंदी में अर्थ
सोते हुए भी वह गहरी नींद में खोया नहीं, सपने में भी सपने में पड़ा नहीं, जागते हुए भी केवल जागा हुआ नहीं। धीर पुरुष हर कदम पर तृप्त रहता है।
सोने, सपने और जागने के नीचे एक चेतना है जो इनके साथ आती-जाती नहीं। उसमें टिककर हम हर अवस्था में संतुष्ट रह सकते हैं, सिर्फ़ अच्छे दिनों में नहीं।
