Ashtavakra Gita · Chapter 18
Ashtavakra Gita 18.37 meaning
moodho napnoti tad brahma yato bhavitum ichchati
anichchann api dheero hi parabrahma-svaroopabhak
The confused one does not reach Brahman precisely because he wants to become it. The wise one, without even wanting it, already shares in the nature of the supreme Brahman.
What it means
Desperately wanting to become something keeps you feeling you are not it yet. The craving itself is the gap. When the wanting relaxes, you notice you already are what you were chasing.
Spoken by Ashtavakra.
