Ashtavakra Gita 10.1 meaning
vihaya vairinam kamam artham ch-anarthasankulam
dharmam apy-etayor hetum sarvatr-anadaram kuru
विहाय वैरिणं काममर्थं चानर्थसङ्कुलम्।
धर्ममप्येतयोर्हेतुं सर्वत्रानादरं कुरु॥
Give up desire, which is your enemy, and wealth, which is full of trouble. Even give up religious duty pursued as a means to those two. Hold all of them lightly.
What it means
Even good deeds can become a deal for future rewards. Check your motives: are you doing good to get something back? Acting without that hidden bargain makes kindness and work far more freeing.हिंदी में अर्थ
इच्छा को, जो तुम्हारी दुश्मन है, और धन को, जो मुसीबतों से भरा है, छोड़ दो। उन दोनों के लिए किए जाने वाले धर्म-कर्म को भी छोड़ो। सबके प्रति उदासीन रहो।
अच्छे काम भी आगे के इनाम का सौदा बन सकते हैं। अपने इरादे परखो: क्या कुछ पाने के लिए भला कर रहे हो? उस छिपे सौदे के बिना किया काम कहीं ज़्यादा आज़ाद करता है।
