Ashtavakra Gita · Chapter 1
Ashtavakra Gita 1.14 meaning
deh-abhimanapashena chiram baddhosi putraka
bodhoham jnanakhadgena tan nishkritya sukhee bhava
My child, for a long time you have been tied up by the noose of thinking you are the body. Cut it with the sword of the knowledge 'I am awareness' and be happy.
What it means
So much anxiety comes from tying our worth to looks, health or age. You live in your body, but you are more than it. Seeing this clearly cuts a rope that has held you for years.
Spoken by Ashtavakra.
