visham nihanti bhoktaram drashtaram chakshush-apy-ayam
दोषेण तीव्रो विषयः कृष्णसर्पविषादपि ।
विषं निहन्ति भोक्तारं द्रष्टारं चक्षुषाप्ययम् ॥
Sense-objects are even more dangerous than the venom of a cobra. Poison kills only the one who swallows it, but these can destroy a person who merely looks at them.
