Valmiki Ramayana 2.2.28 meaning
vyasaneshu manushyanam bhrisham bhavati duhkhitah
utsaveshu cha sarveshu pit-eva paritushyati
व्यसनेषु मनुष्याणां भृशं भवति दुःखितः।
उत्सवेषु च सर्वेषु पितेव परितुष्यति॥
When people fall into trouble, Rama feels deep pain for them. And at every celebration, he is as happy as a father.
