moodhaih prakalpitam daivam tatparas te kshayam gatah
prajnas tu paurusharthena padam uttamatam gatah
मूढैः प्रकल्पितं दैवं तत्परास्ते क्षयं गताः ।
प्राज्ञास्तु पौरुषार्थेन पदमुत्तमतां गताः ॥
Fate is something the deluded have imagined, and those who depend on it alone have perished. The wise, through effort, have risen to the highest positions.
