Subhashitas Subhashita 429 meaning

krodham prabho sanhara sanhar-eti yavad girah khe marutam charanti tavat sa vahnir bhavanetrajanma bhasm-avashesham madanam chakara

Even as the gods' cries of 'Lord, hold back your anger, hold it back!' were still echoing in the sky, the fire from Shiva's third eye had already turned Kama, the god of love, to ashes.

What it means
Anger moves faster than any apology or plea. By the time others beg you to stop, the damage may already be done. That is why the pause must come before the outburst, not after.

Spoken by Kālidāsa.
