rakshanti kripanah panau dravyam kravyam iv-atmanah
tad eva santah satatam utsrijanti yatha malam
रक्षन्ति कृपणाः पाणौ द्रव्यं क्रव्यमिवात्मनः ।
तदेव सन्तः सततमुत्सृजन्ति यथा मलम् ॥
Misers guard wealth in their hands as if it were their own flesh; the good, all the while, give it away as easily as one discards dirt.
