पात्रे त्यागी गुणे रागी संविभागी च बन्धुषु ।
शास्त्रे बोद्धा रणे योद्धा पुरुषः पञ्चलक्षणः ॥
Generous to the deserving, appreciative of merit, sharing fairly with relatives, understanding in the scriptures and a fighter in battle — such a person has the five marks of a true man.
