danena tulyo nidhir asti n-anyo lobhach cha n-anyosti parah prithivyam
vibhooshanam sheelasamam na ch-anyat santoshatulyam dhanam asti n-anyat
दानेन तुल्यो निधिरस्ति नान्यो लोभाच्च नान्योऽस्ति परः पृथिव्याम् ।
विभूषणं शीलसमं न चान्यत् सन्तोषतुल्यं धनमस्ति नान्यत् ॥
There is no treasure equal to giving, and no enemy on earth greater than greed. There is no ornament like good character, and no wealth equal to contentment.
What it means
This verse redefines richness. What you give away is your real treasure; greed is the thief within; character is your best jewellery; and contentment is wealth that no market crash can touch.हिंदी में अर्थ
दान के समान कोई निधि नहीं, और लोभ से बड़ा कोई शत्रु पृथ्वी पर नहीं। शील के समान कोई आभूषण नहीं, और संतोष के समान कोई धन नहीं।
यह श्लोक अमीरी की नई परिभाषा देता है। जो आप देते हैं वही असली खज़ाना है; लोभ भीतर का चोर है; चरित्र सबसे सुंदर गहना है; और संतोष वह धन है जिसे कोई छीन नहीं सकता।
