gunah sarvatra poojyante pitrivansho nirarthakah
vasudevam namasyanti vasudevam na manavah
गुणाः सर्वत्र पूज्यन्ते पितृवंशो निरर्थकः ।
वासुदेवं नमस्यन्ति वसुदेवं न मानवाः ॥
Virtues are honoured everywhere; one's father's lineage means little. People bow to Vasudeva's son, Krishna, not to Vasudeva.
