Subhashitas Subhashita 253 meaning

santah svatah prakashante guna na parato nrinam amodo na hi kastooryah shapathena vibhavyate

The good shine by their own light; virtues do not need others to announce them. The fragrance of musk does not have to be proved by swearing an oath.

What it means
You don't need to market your goodness. Kindness, honesty and skill are noticed on their own, just as fragrance fills a room. Spend less energy on proving yourself and more on simply being good.
