papam tapam cha dainyam cha ghnanti santo mahashayah
गङ्गा पापं शशी तापं दैन्यं कल्पतरुस्तथा ।
पापं तापं च दैन्यं च घ्नन्ति सन्तो महाशयाः ॥
The Ganga removes sin, the moon removes heat, the wish-tree removes poverty. But noble-hearted good people remove sin, heat and poverty all together.
