Ramcharitmanas 7.90.1 meaning
binu santosh na kam nasaheen kam achat sukh sapanehun naheen
ram bhajan binu mitahin ki kama thal biheen taru kabahun ki jama
Without contentment, desires never end; and while desires remain, there is no happiness even in dreams. Can desire be overcome without devotion to Rama? Can a tree grow without ground?
What it means
Desires breed more desires until contentment ends the cycle. And contentment needs roots — something steady to stand on. Faith, values and purpose give your heart that ground. How it helps in real life
- With money: Every raise vanishes into a bigger lifestyle and you're never satisfied. Decide what 'enough' means for your family, and write that number down.
- Every day: Feeling unanchored lately? Give your mornings one steady root, the same five-minute prayer or reading daily, and keep it for a month.
