सठ सुधरहिं सतसंगति पाई। पारस परस कुधात सुहाई॥
बिधि बस सुजन कुसंगत परहीं। फनि मनि सम निज गुन अनुसरहीं॥
Even fools improve in good company, just as base metal turns to gold at the touch of the philosopher's stone. And if fate puts good people in bad company, they keep their goodness, like the jewel on a serpent's head.

सत्संग पाकर बुरे लोग भी सुधर जाते हैं, जैसे पारस के छूने से लोहा सोना बन जाता है। और अगर किस्मत से सज्जन बुरी संगत में पड़ जाएँ, तो भी वे साँप की मणि की तरह अपना गुण नहीं छोड़ते।
अच्छी संगत किसी को भी बदल सकती है। और अगर कभी गलत लोगों के बीच फँसो, तो उनके जैसा बनने की ज़रूरत नहीं; अपनी अच्छाई थामे रहो।
