What it means
Asking for help is hard on dignity, but refusing someone in genuine need is worse. If you're in a position to help, don't make people feel small. Generosity keeps your humanity alive. How it helps in real life
- With money: A colleague quietly asks to borrow money for her child's school fees. If you can afford it, help without making her explain.
- With family: Your cousin asks for help with his visa application. Even if you're busy, give him one evening instead of a quick 'sorry, no time'.
Spoken by Rahim.
