तीन पैग बसुधा करो, तऊ बावनै नाम॥
Rahim says: begging lowers your standing, however great your deeds. Vishnu covered the whole earth in three steps, yet because he went asking, he is still called the Dwarf.

रहीम कहते हैं कि माँगने से पद घट जाता है, चाहे कितने बड़े काम करो। विष्णु ने तीन पग में धरती नाप ली, फिर भी माँगने गए थे इसलिए 'वामन' (बौना) कहलाए।
आत्मसम्मान बहुत कीमती है। काबिल होते हुए भी बार-बार माँगना आपकी छवि छोटी करता है। जहाँ तक हो, अपनी मेहनत पर भरोसा करें।
