Narada Bhakti Sutra 18 meaning
atmaraty-avirodhen-eti shandilyah
आत्मरत्यविरोधेनेति शाण्डिल्यः॥
Shandilya says devotion is all of this, done in a way that does not disturb one's inner joy in the Self.

Outer practices are good only if they deepen your inner peace. If rituals make you anxious, proud or competitive, something is off. Real devotion and inner contentment go together.हिंदी में अर्थ
शाण्डिल्य कहते हैं कि भक्ति वह है जो आत्मा के भीतरी आनंद में बाधा न डाले।
बाहरी साधना तभी अच्छी है जब वह भीतर की शांति बढ़ाए। अगर पूजा से चिंता, घमंड या होड़ पैदा हो, तो कुछ गड़बड़ है। सच्ची भक्ति और आंतरिक संतोष साथ चलते हैं।
