Kena Upanishad 3.4 meaning
tad abhyadravat tam abhyavadat koseety-agnir va
aham asmeety-abraveej jataveda va aham asmeeti
तदभ्यद्रवत्तमभ्यवदत्कोऽसीत्यग्निर्वा।
अहमस्मीत्यब्रवीज्जातवेदा वा अहमस्मीति॥
Agni rushed towards it. It asked him, 'Who are you?' He replied, 'I am Agni, the famous fire. I am Jātavedas, the one who knows all.'
What it means
Notice how Agni answers with titles and reputation. When asked who we are, we often list our job, fame and achievements. Those labels feel big until they meet something truly bigger.हिंदी में अर्थ
अग्नि उसकी ओर दौड़ा। उसने पूछा, 'तुम कौन हो?' अग्नि ने कहा, 'मैं अग्नि हूँ, प्रसिद्ध अग्नि। मैं जातवेद हूँ, सब जानने वाला।'
देखो, अग्नि अपने नाम और ख्याति से जवाब देता है। हम भी 'तुम कौन हो' पर अपना पद और उपलब्धियाँ गिनाते हैं। ये लेबल तब तक बड़े लगते हैं जब तक कुछ सच में बड़ा न मिले।
