Kena Upanishad 3.2 meaning
ta aikshant-asmakam ev-ayam vijayosmakam ev-ayam mahim-eti
tad dhaisham vijajnau tebhyo ha pradurbabhoova tan na vyajanata kim idam yaksham iti
त ऐक्षन्तास्माकमेवायं विजयोऽस्माकमेवायं महिमेति।
तद्धैषां विजज्ञौ तेभ्यो ह प्रादुर्बभूव तन्न व्यजानत किमिदं यक्षमिति॥
They thought, 'This victory is ours alone; this glory is ours alone.' Brahman knew what they were thinking and appeared before them. They could not tell what this mysterious being was.
What it means
Pride makes us blind. The gods could not recognise the very power that helped them, because they were busy admiring themselves. Success is a test of humility.हिंदी में अर्थ
उन्होंने सोचा, 'यह विजय केवल हमारी है, यह महिमा केवल हमारी है।' ब्रह्म उनके मन की बात जान गया और उनके सामने प्रकट हुआ। वे समझ नहीं पाए कि यह रहस्यमय यक्ष कौन है।
घमंड हमें अंधा कर देता है। देवता उसी शक्ति को नहीं पहचान पाए जिसने उनकी मदद की, क्योंकि वे खुद की तारीफ़ में डूबे थे। सफलता विनम्रता की परीक्षा है।
