Kabir ke Dohe · Kabir ke Dohe
Kabir ke Dohe Doha 36 meaning
avat garee ek hai, ulatat hoy anek
kah kabeer nahin ulatie, vahee ek kee ek
An insult comes to you as just one. If you throw it back, it multiplies into many. Kabir says do not return it, and it stays only one.
What it means
When someone insults you, replying in kind only multiplies the bitterness. Letting it go keeps a small hurt from becoming a big fight. Silence is often the strongest response. How it helps in real life
- When you are angry: Someone cuts you off in traffic and swears at you. Don't shout back; let it stay one insult instead of a road fight.
- At work: A colleague insults you in front of the team. Don't hit back in the meeting; stay calm, and talk privately later if needed.
