Kabir ke Dohe Doha 153 meaning
jo roon to bal ghatai, hansoon to ram risai
man hee mahin bisoorana, jyoon ghun kathahi khai
If I weep, my strength fails; if I laugh, Ram may be displeased. So I grieve silently inside, like a woodworm eating wood from within.
What it means
Kabir describes longing for the Divine, but the image fits any hidden ache. Silent grief eats us from inside. It helps to name it and share it, not just endure it.How it helps in real life
- In grief: Smiling at work while silently grieving your miscarriage? Tell one trusted friend or counsellor this week; don't carry it alone.
- When you feel alone: Feeling a hidden ache you can't explain, even among family? Write it in a journal tonight, then share one line with someone close.
