Hitopadesha 0.5 meaning

sanyojayati vidya-iva neechagapi naram sarit samudram iva durdharsham nripam bhagyam atah param

Learning alone brings a person of humble standing to an unreachable king, just as a river flowing along low ground still reaches the mighty sea. Good fortune follows after that.

What it means
Where you start does not decide where you end. Knowledge and skill are the river that carries you to rooms you once thought closed. Build them first; opportunity tends to follow.

Spoken by Narayana Pandit.
