रावण ने सीता जी को बहुत डराया और राक्षसियों से उन्हें सताने को कहा। उसी समय महाप्रभु हनुमान ने जाकर बड़े-बड़े राक्षसों को मारा। जब सीता जी दुख से अशोक वृक्ष से आग माँग रही थीं, तब आपने प्रभु की अँगूठी देकर उनका शोक दूर किया। संसार में कौन नहीं जानता कि आपका नाम संकटमोचन है?
सीता जी के सबसे अँधेरे पल में राम की एक छोटी-सी निशानी ने उन्हें जीने की हिम्मत दी। अकेलेपन में डूबे किसी को उम्मीद का संदेश भेजना छोटी बात नहीं।
