Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.4.10 meaning

brahma va idam agra aseet tad atmanam ev-avedaham brahm-asmeeti

In the beginning, all this was Brahman alone. It knew only itself, and it knew: "I am Brahman."

What it means
"Aham Brahmasmi" — I am Brahman — is one of the four great sayings of the Upanishads. It is not ego talking; it means your deepest awareness is not small or separate but one with the whole of reality.
