मूढ जहीहि धनागमतृष्णां कुरु सद्बुद्धिं मनसि वितृष्णाम्।
यल्लभसे निजकर्मोपात्तं वित्तं तेन विनोदय चित्तम्॥
O fool, give up your thirst for piling up money. Fill your mind with good sense and freedom from craving. Whatever wealth you earn through your own honest work, be content and happy with that.
What it means
Earning is fine; endless craving is the problem. Work honestly, enjoy what it brings, and stop measuring your worth by how much more you could have. Contentment is a kind of wealth no one can take.हिंदी में अर्थ
हे नासमझ, धन जमा करने की प्यास छोड़ दो। मन में अच्छी समझ और लालच से मुक्ति लाओ। अपनी ईमानदार मेहनत से जो धन मिले, उसी में ख़ुश और संतुष्ट रहो।
कमाना ग़लत नहीं, अंतहीन लालच समस्या है। ईमानदारी से काम कीजिए, जो मिले उसका आनंद लीजिए, और 'और' से अपनी क़ीमत मत आँकिए। संतोष ऐसा धन है जिसे कोई छीन नहीं सकता।
